On this week’s episode we dysh on black mental health and the concept of mental slavery. In the black community mental illness is still highly stigmatized. We talk about how many black people turn to religion opting to ‘pray the cray away.’ We discuss how the community feels there are not enough safe spaces to express their mental health concerns. We discuss anti-Black racism and how its rooted in Canadian institutions. We talk about the origins of mental slavery and how we can escape it.
