On this week’s episode I dysh with Dr. Onye about racism and mental health. She reflects on talking about racism at a young age after experiencing it. It was later that Dr. Onye came to the conclusion that racism effects our mental and physical health. She currently teaches medical students the relevance of racism within healthcare. She discusses how social privilege and disadvantages effects racialized populations. Dr. Onye talks about collecting race-based data to understand where racism comes from.
